King Diamond is the stage name of Danish heavy metal musician Kim Bendix Petersen. He is known for his powerful and distinctive falsetto singing style and his use of horror-inspired themes in his music and lyrics. He is the lead vocalist and a founding member of the band King Diamond, which he formed in 1985, as well as a former member of the band Mercyful Fate. King Diamond's music often features complex storytelling, elaborate concept albums and multi-part suite songs, inspired by horror movies and occultism, and is considered a pioneer of the genre known as "horror metal" or "occult metal" King Diamond's band has released multiple studio albums and have a large fanbase, they are considered as one of the most influential and respected bands in the heavy metal genre.
